Train with Julien poster: Negotiation

Right for your team if it includes…

  • Staff who negotiate with clients, suppliers or partners
  • Teams that want to plan real upcoming negotiations: participants bring their own cases

Not the right fit for…

  • Anyone looking for scripts or tricks to pressure the other side

Here is how the course is built, in two parts.

What the course covers

What the course covers.

Tick one part or both to add them to your request. Nothing is fixed until we have talked: Julien will adapt the content and length to your team after a free needs call.

Part 1Harvard negotiation framework

The framework and the plan

Participants first understand the landscape of a negotiation and get a correct understanding of the terms used in the field.

They then plan a negotiation with the model, using their own scenarios, which the group analyses and plans for together.

Part 2largely based on Chris Voss’s approach (Black Swan Group)

Soft skills and the roadmap

Participants learn and practise non-verbal communication for negotiation, the psychology of asking questions, of yes and no, and of anchoring.

They then build a roadmap for their negotiations: where the conversation needs to go, its phases, how to move from one phase to the next, and the pitfalls to avoid in order to close an agreement.

Every course includes: cases from your sector · delivered by Julien in English or Arabic · applied to their own work · accreditation arranged · personal application plan · HR summary · four-week check-in

You may be wondering whether this fits a team like yours.

Will it fit your team?

Nothing on this page is delivered as it stands. The content above is what your team can work on; the course itself is put together after a needs call, around your sector, your people’s level and your schedule. Recommended: 3 to 6 hours of training a day, in person across KSA or online, in English or Arabic, with accreditation arranged for you.

Every course follows the same three steps: the model is introduced through cases, practised in the room, then applied by each participant to a real task from their own job before the session ends.

  1. Theory, through cases from your sector
  2. Practice in the room
  3. Applied to their own work

From an HR team that took this course.

What people say.

Julien’s negotiation skills workshop was absolutely excellent for our team at Sulzer. He gave us clear, practical tools that we started using right away. His session was engaging, directly relevant to our daily work, and left everyone feeling genuinely confident heading into tough conversations.

One way

Your team goes into its next negotiation with its experience and its instincts, and finds out at the table what the other side wanted.

The other

They go in with the negotiation already planned on the Harvard framework, the questions ready, and a roadmap for moving the conversation from one phase to the next towards an agreement.

Your team will negotiate this month either way. A plan decides how much they give away.

See your course before you commit.

Send the modules you ticked, or none at all. Julien calls you for 20–30 minutes, then sends a tailored outline and proposal within 5 working days.

If the outline isn’t what you need, say so: he can change the mix, take one module deeper, or build a new course around your goal. You pay nothing and commit to nothing until you accept a proposal.

And if he isn’t the right trainer for what you need, he’ll tell you, and point you to what to look for instead.

Frequently asked questions.

Can we choose only some of these modules?

Yes. You can book a single module on its own, or tick several; on the needs call, Julien will confirm which fit your goal and how they combine with modules from other topics.

Can one module be covered in more depth?

Yes. If your team needs to focus on one subject, Julien can expand a single module and take it deeper and broader, into a full course of its own.

How long would our course be?

It depends on the modules you choose and the time your team can give. Recommended: 3 to 6 hours of training a day. The length is set with you after the needs call.

Can we bring our own negotiation cases?

Yes. In the first part of the course, participants plan real negotiations from their own work using the Harvard framework.

Is it about pressure tactics?

No. The second part, largely based on Chris Voss’s approach, covers the psychology of questions, of yes and no, and of anchoring, and builds a roadmap that moves a conversation, phase by phase, towards an agreement.

Is it for sales teams only?

No. It is for anyone who negotiates with clients, suppliers, partners or colleagues.
